What Carrot Vault is
Carrot Vault is not backup software you install and look after. It is a service: Red Rabbit Security, a cybersecurity company, operates the entire backup and recovery program for your organization around the clock, every day of the year.
A backup that reports “completed” only tells you data was copied. Carrot Vault goes further: Red Rabbit Security restores your backups in isolation, checks that the recovered system works, and certifies the result, so you know your business can come back before you ever need it to.

3-2-1 backup strategies
The 3-2-1 rule keeps three copies of your data, on two different types of storage, with one copy off-site. Supported Carrot Vault configurations can implement a 3-2-1 strategy, for example by combining on-premises storage with off-site cloud storage, and paid subscriptions can keep backups in immutable storage. Red Rabbit Security designs the configuration with you; not every deployment is 3-2-1 automatically.
Scheduling, monitoring and recovery testing
Red Rabbit Security sets how often each computer is backed up, watches every backup, and responds when one fails or falls behind. Recovery is tested, not assumed: backups are restored into an isolated environment, the recovered system is checked, and a technician certifies the result.

Customer Portal visibility
The Customer Portal shows each protected computer, its backups, its recovery tests and the formal reports. Only certified results count as passed. Plan and storage changes can be requested from the portal; other changes to your service are requested from Red Rabbit Security, who carries them out.

Software authenticity
Carrot Vault Windows installers are digitally signed through Microsoft Artifact Signing. The signature identifies the publisher as Red Rabbit Security, LLC. Before you install, open the installer's Properties, choose Digital Signatures, and confirm that publisher name.
The signature confirms who published the file and that it has not been altered since signing. It is not an endorsement of Carrot Vault by Microsoft.
